Jerram Winery is located in the historic Town Hill section of New Hartford, the site of the original town settlement dating to the early 1700s. Because of it’s elevation, the vineyards enjoy a relatively long growing season that enables the vines to produce grapes with the sophisticated maturity necessary for the production of high quality wines. Founded in 1998, Jerram Winery currently offers 11 wines, including several award winners. Our vineyards grow many varieties of grapes including Marechal Foch, Seyval Blanc and Vignoles.

The Mirandas’ handcrafted vintages are produced using traditional European methods passed down through the generations, combined with modern scientific advances. Come visit the picturesque vineyard located in the rolling Litchfield hills. Bring a picnic and friends! Take in the scenery and enjoy a glass of their unique award-winning wines.

In 2012, we purchased the ten acre property. We planted our first acre of Cayuga grapes in 2014 and opened our tasting room in 2015. In 2015, we planted our second acre of Seyval Blanc grapes and in 2016 we planted a new grape varietal, Aromella. As we grow our vineyards, we will continue to source our grapes from California but all the wines are crafted in Northford, CT.

At Shelter Rock Winery, expert winemaker, Giovanni Petretta, guides you through the step-by-step process of hand-crafted wine making using state-of-the art equipment to suit your individual palate. Whether you are coming in alone, with your best friend, or with your entire group/team, Shelter Rock Winery is a community of wine-enthusiasts celebrating wine, life, and love. The process begins in October when our grapes arrive from all over the world- so make sure you hold your spot for our next harvest.

Along with purchasing wine to go we can open your purchased bottles of wine at the winery. Glasses of wine, served in plastic cups, will also be for sale at $8.00 each. If you want a real wine glass you can purchase one for $1.00, $3.00, or bring your own. We offer wine slushies for $8.00 and wine flights for $12.00.  Indoor seating is limited – first come, first served.  We offer some snack foods for purchase along with having food trucks – dates and times vary.  

Savino Vineyards is a family owned and operated vineyard. We grow premium vinifera and American hybrid grapes to blend them and produce unique tasting wines.

Priam Vineyards was first established in 1998, in 2002 became a licensed farm winery, opening the winery for retail sales in April of 2003. “Terroir” comes from the word “terre” or “land”, a French term in wine used to denote the special characteristics that the geography, geology and climate of a certain place bestows upon particular produce, which then contribute to the unique qualities of the crop.

Our Dry Apple Wine is the driest possible, with sugar levels below what the human tongue can naturally detect. Such a low sugar content enhances both the acidity and the fruitiness of the wine, also making it reminiscent of a Pinot Grigio. This wine is best suited for the seasoned wine drinker because of its dry characterisitics, but we encourage everyone who visits to give it a taste. 

Holmberg Orchards is a family owned farm enterprise that is now in its fourth generation. Adolph and Hulda Holmberg, as recent arrivals from Sweden, originally purchased the farm in Gales Ferry, Connecticut, in 1896. The farm soon produced vegetable crops that were well known for their high quality throughout Southeastern Connecticut. Harold and Henry Holmberg purchased the farm from their mother, Hulda, in 1931 and began planting apple, peach, and pear trees in 1935.

In 1653, Walter Palmer, who lived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony after arriving from England in 1629, established a farm on some 230 acres of his land holdings surrounding Wequetequock Cove. Portions of Palmer’s original tract, including what is now Saltwater Farm Vineyard, continued to be used as farmland into the early decades of the 20th century, known then as the West Farm and owned by Herbert West, who was raised in North Stonington.
